After a difficult start to the year, the construction of the church building in Barichara is continuing. The year started with the pastors being robbed of 30 million pesos that were being taken to pay for construction material. This was a devastating blow to them that caused a pause at the beginning of the year.
On July 1st, 2019, the Assemblies of God Seminary in Colombia officially opened their extension site in San Gil. The first group of students consists of 15 pastors and will be comprised of intensive studies. However, starting in August 2019, the seminary will open to all leaders through weekly classes. The church plant in La Siberia is a new endeavor by the church in Charalá. La Siberia is officially a barrio of Charala; however, it is a 15-20 minute walk to get there. Most of the people in the barrio do not have cars, and the people even comment about having to “travel to Charala.”
Fundación Manna Project Mana focuses on children between the ages of 5 and 13 along with their parents. It seeks to provide food, nutrition services, health monitoring, as well as training to those in need. As of September, 2016, project Mana was still going strong.
