The Gospel is simply “Good News.” It is the story of Jesus as the completion of the story of humanity, or God’s creation, as found in the Scriptures.

God created everything, including the Earth, then He created everything on it, including humans. He created man and woman in His own image. Therefore, we are image-bearers of God. However, the first two humans sinned against God, and allowed sin and death to enter the world. Romans 3:23 states, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” And in Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

However, God loves us and had a plan to deliver us, even before He created the world. He promised Abraham that all people of Earth would be blessed through him. And then He promised David that a king would sit on his throne. That future king would be born in the line of Abraham and David, His name is Jesus.

God sent His son, Jesus, at the perfect time, fulfilling hundreds of prophecies from the Old Testament. Jesus, fully human, and fully God (John 1:14) experienced life like you and me, however, there is one huge difference … He never sinned. Jesus lived a sinless life (1 Peter 2:22), and therefore, was the perfect sacrifice to save us.

Jesus gave His life on a cross, a humiliating death (Galatians 1:4). However, he was resurrected on the third day, defeating death and sin. Because of this sacrifice, He is able to offer us salvation. There is nothing that you or I can do to be saved, we can not work hard enough, give enough, or do enough to be saved. This is why Jesus came … to offer His salvation as a free gift to us (Romans 6:23, 5:15).

This Gospel brings salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16) and it is available to you. As the Word of God states, “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” (Romans 10:9-10).

What incredibly Good News this is. But this Good News is not only to decide your eternity. When you place your trust in Jesus, He will transform your life today (Rom 12:1-2).

Are you ready to start a new life?

Pray this prayer: “Lord, Thank you for what you did for us. Thank you for this free gift of salvation. I know you are the Son of God. I believe that you came to Earth to save us. Jesus, today, I give you my heart and ask you to save to me. Give me new life! Transform me! Thank you, Lord.” Amen.

If that was the first time you said that prayer, send me a message using the contact form. I recommend that you get a good Bible like an NIV or NLT and start reading with the book of John in the New Testament.
