The last two years have been tumultuous, to say the least. With the pandemic hitting in 2020, almost everything was canceled. All our teams canceled due to travel restrictions. This, in turn, put a stop to many of our projects. We ended up coming home to the United States at the end of 2020 for itineration. This, along with continued travel restrictions, cause additional interruptions.
Well … we’re putting all that behind us and looking forward to these coming months. We are excited to be back in Colombia and are looking at the possibilities for this year. God has given us new ideas and direction, and we look forward to the changes that will be coming. Let’s take a look at some of the things we wish to do and some of the events that are upcoming.
One of the first items will be to examine the possibility of re-starting in-person classes at the seminary extension. It has been closed since March 2020. Thankfully we were able to complete our first class virtually, with their graduation occurring in June 2021. We are praying that since some restrictions have been lifted, we will be able to meet again to continue building up our leaders.
We certainly want to look at the church building project in Barichara and see what we need to do to continue this work. We are hoping to visit the site this coming week to evaluate the progress. It is our hope that we can complete this project this year.
While we look to re-start these ongoing projects almost immediately, there are several other new events that we are looking forward to. One of these is the start of evangelism outreaches. We are hoping to start these outreaches in May of this year. We are targeting some of the smaller towns and rural areas with these events; hopefully, the restrictions will be lifted, and people will overcome the fear that has been instilled.
We are also looking forward to June and September when we have two possible missions teams scheduled. We are praying that some travel restrictions will be lifted in the next months so that both teams will be able to come. These teams will be participating in the construction of the church in Barichara and working in Children’s ministry outreaches throughout the area. Please pray with us that 2022 will be an incredible year and that we will be able to pick up where we left off in 2020. We look forward to all that is possible this year!
